FAQ

What does the PTO do?

  • The PTO fundraises throughout the year to support:

    • in-school enrichment activities (such as in-house “field trips” and performers)

    • MSHR community events (such as the spring fair)

    • teacher appreciation gifts

    • school and classroom supplies
       

  • The PTO communicates with the MSHR community to relay information on available co-op hour opportunities, upcoming events, fundraising initiatives, and other important information.
     

  • We help parents track co-op hours.
     

  • We serve as a sounding board for questions or concerns. We might not always have the answer, but we can find it for you!

What does the PTO not do?

  • We do not determine co-op hour opportunities.
    While we can present ideas and requests for additional co-op hour opportunities, the school administration has the final word on what opportunities will be available and how many hours they will be worth.
     

  • We do not determine school closures or educational direction.
     

  • We do not communicate directly with school staff, other than the administration. The PTO communicates directly with Ling and Christy, and they relay information to staff. If you need to reach out to your child’s teacher directly, please use the classroom email addresses.
